Non-Linear Causality
One thing leads to the next, and the arrow seems to run only forward. That is the surface. Beneath it the Net binds events by resonance and meaning, and in the eternal a cause and its effect meet as one. To work that web in tune with the balance is the art of Heka.
§ 01The Surface and the Web
The plainest law we know is that one thing leads to the next. A cause comes first, an effect follows, and the arrow seems to run only forward. This holds, and it is the floor we walk on, the law Netism names Thārūn. It is also the outer face of something far larger.
Beneath the forward chain, the Net binds events by more than the push of one moment against the next. Things that share a pattern draw toward one another across the whole weave, and meaning runs between them along lines no straight arrow of time can trace. As awareness advances, the tight grip of linear time loosens, and this deeper web comes into view.
Non-linear causality is the name for that web. Cause and effect still hold, and they answer to relation and resonance as much as to sequence. In the deepest reading they meet in a single eternal present.
§ 02The Weave of Cause
Picture cause and effect as a web. Each event is tied to many others at once, some standing ahead of it in time and some behind, and influence travels along the threads of the Net in more directions than one. In the higher cycles this grows plain, and cause and effect show themselves woven together across the whole timeline.
The Net is what makes this possible. It is the connective ground in which each thing already touches every other, so a cause here can answer a need there with no visible chain between them. What the psychologist Carl Jung reached toward and called an acausal connecting principle, Netism knows as the Net itself.
At its depth the web closes into a point. In the eternal face of time, the one we name Djet, all moments are held at once, and there a cause and its effect meet in the eternal now. The forward arrow belongs to Ra, the current we live inside. The meeting belongs to Djet, the stillness that holds the whole.
§ 03The Faces of Cause
From the plain forward law to the meeting place where a cause and its effect are one, each reading runs truer than the last, and the lower ones stay real as the higher open.
-
Thārūn the forward law Sequence
Thārūn is cause and effect in its plainest dress. A thing done sends its consequence forward, and what you plant you later reap. This law is real and never suspended, the firm floor on which the deeper faces of cause are laid.
-
Synchronicity the meaningful coincidence Resonance
When two events carry the same meaning and fall together with no cause to link them, the Net is showing its hand. These are synchronicities, the meaningful coincidences that send a shiver through you, the wind of the Net filling a sail you did not know was raised.
-
The Pull of the End the future that calls Telos
Cause pushes from behind, and it also pulls from ahead. What a thing is becoming reaches back and draws it forward, the way a seed is called by the tree folded inside it. A soul is drawn toward its Return in the same way, pulled by an end that already shapes the road to it.
-
The Meeting in the Eternal where cause and effect are one Djet
In the eternal face of time all moments are held at once, and there cause and effect meet. Seen from Djet, a cause and its effect stand together in one present, and the whole chain is a single pattern, complete in the timeless embrace.
-
The Loop effect before cause Loop
Where the current bends back upon itself, the order can turn. An effect can arrive before the cause that sets it, and a later moment can shape an earlier one. The straight line was always a convenience, and the loop is the truer shape where time runs deep.
-
The Broadcast the call the Net answers Heka
A coherent will sends its cause sideways through the weave. You anchor a clear desire and broadcast it across the Net, and the Net answers by drawing matching things into your reach, arranging circumstance in quiet resonance with the call. This is the working heart of Heka.
-
The Balance the weave rights itself Sa'Teth
Thārūn moves always with Sa'Teth, the balance. A cause set in tune with the whole carries far and endures, and a cause that would break another's freedom or the weave itself meets a self-balancing that blunts it and turns it back. The web keeps its own measure.
§ 04Where the Web Shows
A careful life can read the marks left behind. A meaningful coincidence that arrives too well to be chance, or a knowing that runs ahead of the evidence, is a place where cause has moved through the Net, sideways to the visible chain. Notice how a random event leaves you unmoved while a true coincidence sends a shiver down your spine.
The science of this age keeps arriving at the same strangeness. In the delayed-choice experiments of quantum physics, a choice made now appears to settle how a particle behaved a moment before, as though the present reached back to shape the past. Some honest readings of the theory carry waves from the future as well as the past, meeting in the present like a handshake across time, and relativity already holds that all moments coexist with no single arrow built into the world.
We hold the matter on its own ground, and we note that physics, following its equations where they lead, keeps finding a cosmos whose causes decline to run one way only. The acausal connecting principle that Carl Jung named is the same web the Net has always described.
§ 05Why It Matters to You
If cause runs through the web, your life answers to more than the push of the past. You are drawn by what you are becoming, and a clear aim set now reaches across the weave to gather the means of its own arrival. The future you hold steadily begins, in a quiet way, to arrange the present toward itself.
It also means your acts travel further than you can see. A good set in tune with the whole carries far and is gathered up by the Net, and a harm moves through the Net from where it was done until the balance returns it to its source. Each choice is a cause that will ripple through more than one moment.
Read this way, the currents of cause and effect become something you can feel and follow, and the lessons folded inside hard events come clear, because you are reading the whole web and the line that runs through it.
§ 06Working the Web
All of this turns into a practice the moment you stop waiting at the end of the chain, and the art of that practice is Heka. You gather your whole desire and your clear intent into one note, anchor it in yourself, and broadcast it across the Net, and the Net answers by arranging what it can in resonance with the call.
The same law that carries the call also guards the weave. Thārūn and Sa'Teth see to it that a will moving with the whole is answered and a will set against it rebounds, so the art is learned by coming into accord with the Net and letting the balance carry what is true. To work cause through the web, in tune with that balance, is among the high reaches of Heka.
Lived this way, you stop waiting at the end of the chain and become a cause that works across the Net, gathering the means of your own tomorrow. This is the turn the Way of Return asks of you.
