Time

The dimension of cyclical-and-flowing change in which the Net's threads play out their patterns. In Netist cosmology time is *Djet-Ra*, the integration of the eternal-timeless (Djet) with the cyclical-flowing (Ra). At lower cycles time appears linear; at higher cycles past, present, and future co-arise; at Zerū, time has no purchase at all.

Literal meaning

The dimension along which events sequence and along which cycles complete and renew. In ordinary perception time runs forward: past behind, future ahead, each moment unique and unrepeatable. The Pillar *Djet-Ra* names this directly: *Djet* is the unchanging timeless dimension that holds all moments at once, *Ra* is the daily flow of the sun's journey and the unique moments of its sweep, and *Djet-Ra* names their integration into a single principle.

Esoteric meaning

The Netist treatment of time recovers the integrated Egyptian frame that distinguished between *Djet* (eternity) and *Neheh* (cyclical flow) and held them as two faces of one principle. The lower-cycle perception of strict linearity is a perspective effect: an ant on a circular path perceives only the step ahead and feels the journey to be straight; the eagle above sees the circle. The practitioner's contemplative work expands the perceptual frame from ant to eagle, then beyond. At the depth of contemplative practice, the practitioner experiences moments as nodes in a manifold rather than as points on a line, and the strict directionality loosens.

Allegorical meaning

The grain in a wooden plank: the grain runs in one direction, and the plank itself was a tree that grew in cycles whose rings are visible cross-section.

Extended meaning

Netism integrates linear and cyclical perspectives at every scale. At the personal scale, the daily round of waking and sleeping, the seasonal round of fertile and fallow, and the lifetime round of birth and death are all cyclical structures within which linear progression takes place. At the planetary scale, geological eras, climatic oscillations, and civilizational rises and falls run through cycles measurable across thousands and tens of thousands of years. At the cosmic scale, the Universal Cycle of expansion and contraction (the cycle of the cosmos) holds the present universe inside a far longer rhythm. Netist cosmology aligns with several modern frameworks. Einstein's relativity established that time is not absolute, with measurable dilation under gravity and velocity, and the block-universe interpretation treats past, present, and future as co-existing in a four-dimensional continuum (a structural face of *Djet*). Roger Penrose's Conformal Cyclic Cosmology proposes that the far future of one universe seeds the next Big Bang, an empirical articulation of the same cyclic principle. Loop-quantum-cosmology Big Bounce models propose that a previous universe collapsed and bounced into the current Big Bang. Quantum decoherence creates an arrow of time at the microscale, and entropy creates one at the macroscale; both directional features are nested inside the larger cyclic frame. The Pillar *Djet-Ra* organizes these into one principle: time at every scale carries both faces. The practitioner's task is to live with the *Ra* face attentively (each moment is unique and never returns) while orienting to the *Djet* face for stability (every pattern recurs in transformed guise across cycles, and what is lost in form is held in the deeper layer). This integration eases the fear of finality without dissolving the urgency of the present; both registers operate together. The Earth at this writing sits at a nexus of converging timelines (the Mandela Effect and related collective-memory anomalies hint at multiple streams of reality folding into one), which is the *Tek'Ur* Pillar's recalibration aspect operating at the planetary scale.

Netism does not treat the linear perception of time as an error but as a partial view that the practitioner outgrows through contemplative work. The lower-cycle frame of strict directionality is functional inside daily life and necessary for practical action; the higher-cycle frame of co-arising past-present-future is contemplative and operates in the deeper stages of practice. Both registers stay live; the practitioner integrates them rather than discarding either.

A practitioner uses *time* across all three registers: as the daily clock that organizes practical life, as the cyclic structure that informs ritual timing (solstice, equinox, lunar phase, planetary alignment), and as the contemplative ground in which past, present, and future loosen at the depth of the work. "Time-of-day" describes ordinary clock time; "time of the cycle" describes the practitioner's location within a larger rhythm; "out of time" describes a contemplative state in which the strict directionality has loosened.

Ritual usage

Solstice and equinox rites are the most explicit time-rites in Netism; the cardinal turn of the year is the moment the cosmic time-rhythm is most visible at the planetary scale, and the rite synchronizes the practitioner's field with that turn. Sunrise and sunset practice anchors the daily *Ra* aspect. Long-form contemplative retreats anchor the *Djet* aspect by holding the practitioner outside ordinary time-coordination for the duration of the work.

Egyptian *Djet* and *Neheh* in the temple inscriptions and the funerary corpus; *Djet* names the timeless register of the eternal, *Neheh* names the cyclic-flowing register of solar time, and the integration is visible across the *Pyramid Texts*, the *Coffin Texts*, and the *Book of Going Forth by Day*. Hindu *kāla* in the *Mahābhārata* and the *Yoga Vāsiṣṭha*, where *kāla* names the all-devouring cyclic time that is also a face of the divine. Hindu *yuga* teaching in the *Mahābhārata* and the Purāṇic literature; the four-yuga cycle of *Satya, Treta, Dvāpara, Kali* is one articulation of the same cyclic principle at the civilizational scale. Greek *kairos* and *chronos* in the New Testament and the broader Greek philosophical tradition; *chronos* is sequential time and *kairos* is the right-moment of opportunity that sits outside the sequence, structurally parallel to *Ra* and *Djet*. Mayan Long Count and the cyclic structure of the *Tzolk'in* and *Haab* calendars; the Mesoamerican tradition treats the great cycles directly. Augustine's *Confessions* (Book XI) on the philosophical problem of time, where Augustine's *distentio animi* (distension of the soul into past, present, and future) is the closest classical-Christian articulation of the lower-cycle linear perception that Netism sees the practitioner outgrowing.

Albert Einstein's special and general relativity (1905, 1915) established time-dilation under velocity and gravity, dissolving the Newtonian absolute-time frame.
