Sacred Number Systems: Base-12, Vortex Math, and the Original Metrics

The numbers 3, 6, and 9, base-12 measurement, and vortex mathematics reveal a numeric code embedded in the structure of the cosmos.

Nikola Tesla is often attributed with the quote:

“If you only knew the magnificence of the 3, 6, and 9, then you would have a key to the universe.”

This exact phrasing lacks direct documentation in the known writings, yet it captures a lasting fascination with these numbers. The obsession with 3, 6, and 9 showed up in daily life. He reportedly walked around a block three times before entering a building, insisted on staying in hotel rooms with numbers divisible by three, and wrote 3, 6, and 9 at the top of his notebook to remind himself to take a break.

Though some attribute these characteristics to eccentricities, they point to a deeper understanding of numbers, one that was used in ancient systems and has since been lost in modern understanding.

Vortex Math and Energetic Numbers

Vortex-based mathematics was revived by demonstrating a system of number theory and applying it to the Rodin coil, a toroidal pattern of wire-wrapping that features two spiral windings in a geometry that dramatically increases electric and magnetic conductance.

Vortex-based mathematics is a system of number theory that reveals repeating patterns of energy through the base-9 digital root system. It maps the flow of numbers around a torus, a donut-shaped structure that mirrors the geometry of magnetic fields, galaxies, and energy vortices in nature.

By reducing all numbers to their single-digit essence (1 through 9), this method uncovers symmetrical spirals and oscillations that bypass conventional linear arithmetic and instead follow circular, energetic flows.

1-2-4-8-7-5 and The Mystery of 3-6-9

The most striking pattern in vortex math is the repeating loop 1-2-4-8-7-5, which cycles endlessly. In contrast, 3-6-9 occupy positions of balance and control outside the main flow, acting like modulators or “governing” numbers. These patterns mirror the dynamics of electrical current, toroidal fields, and even DNA behavior. Number is an embedded energetic language of the universe.

When Tesla reminded himself to take breaks by writing 3, 6, and 9, he was honoring resonant nodes within the aether. In this framework:

  • 3 and 6 oscillate like magnetic currents.
  • 9 stands as the still center, Zeru, the non-dual point within the torus.

Sacred Multiples and Digital Roots

Multiples of three exhibit a unique trait:

  • Any number whose digits add up to 3, 6, or 9 is divisible by 3.
  • Any multiple of 9 also reduces back to 9.

This digital root phenomenon is foundational in ancient numeric systems and underlies many cosmic ratios.

The Ancient Base-12 and Base-60 Systems

The imperial number system used in the United States is not arbitrary. It is rooted in base-12 and base-60 systems found in ancient measurement:

  • We count time using base-60 (60 seconds, 60 minutes).
  • The Sun’s diameter in miles (864,000) relates to the number of seconds in a day (86,400), a perfect 10x ratio.
  • These number systems mirror astronomical and cosmological scales, showing sacred harmonics embedded in natural structures.

Cosmic Ratios and Astronomical Symmetry

The Earth, Moon, and Sun system provides stunning examples of sacred geometry:

  • The Sun’s diameter is about 864,000 miles, a multiple of 432.
  • The Moon’s diameter is about 2,160 miles, which is 6 x 360.
  • The Earth is 108 times the Sun’s diameter from the Sun (about 93 million miles).
  • The Moon is 108 times its own diameter away from Earth (about 238,800 miles).

These ratios create the visual illusion of the Moon and Sun being the same size from Earth, which makes solar eclipses possible.

Alchemy of the Moon and Silver

In ancient symbolic systems, the Moon was universally associated with silver. This goes beyond myth:

  • The atomic weight of silver is 107.87, which rounds to 108, mirroring the Moon’s distance ratio.

This resonance between material property and spatial geometry reinforces the idea that the universe is built upon musical and mathematical harmony.

The Music of the Spheres

When the ancients spoke of the music of the spheres, they were being precise. They were referring to the resonant design of the cosmos itself.

Whether we attribute this to divine intelligence or emergent natural order, the result is clear. There is structure within chaos and harmony within the apparent randomness of the multiverse.

Modern numeracy reduces number to measurement, while ancient numeracy understood number as vibration, energy, and code.
