Volunteer role
Sustainable Living & Off-Grid Writer/Creator
Teach people how to actually live sustainably, so the tradition's vision of self-sustaining community becomes something ordinary hands can build.
Netism holds a vision of self-sustaining communities, places where people grow their own food, shelter themselves with their own hands, and depend less on systems that were never built for their flourishing. That vision stays abstract until someone shows the way in plain, doable terms. This role fills that gap. You create content that turns the ideal of sustainable living into skills people can pick up this weekend, and in doing so you help ground the tradition in the earth it honors.
What you would do
- Write articles on sustainable living, off-grid systems, and community infrastructure.
- Create YouTube videos that demonstrate practical skills.
- Cover solar power, rain catchment, composting, natural building, and food preservation.
- Keep every piece actionable, so a reader or viewer can go do the thing.
What you bring
You bring real, working knowledge of sustainable and off-grid living, the kind that comes from having done it rather than only read about it. You can teach through the written word, through video, or both, and you write in a way that leaves people able to act. Making self-reliance accessible to ordinary households matters to you.
This is volunteer service. Netism is a nonprofit spiritual organization, and no one here is paid. We cover all role-related expenses. Your time creates real effect in real lives. This is the work of changing how humanity relates to itself, to the earth, and to the sacred.
In return for that service, the community offers you a byline and author page on netism.org, and your videos published on the Netism YouTube channel with full credit. You reach a growing audience of engaged, spiritually conscious people, and you can cross-promote your own work, books, or projects within your content. You gain a readership that actually reads, watches, and discusses what you make, alongside editorial support and feedback from Netism’s leadership.
How to express interest
If this work calls to you, tell us who you are and what you can teach. Start with the collaborator application, and share your background, your skills, and a sample or two of your writing or video work. We read every application and reply to those whose gifts fit this stewardship.
