Volunteer role

Sustainable Living & Off-Grid Systems Advisor

Guide the sanctuary lands toward infrastructure that lives in accord with the earth.

The sanctuary spaces are taking root, and they need infrastructure built to last and built in accord with the living earth. This role brings the practical knowledge that lets those lands stand on their own, drawing clean power, sound water, and shelter that sits lightly on the ground. The work matters because a sanctuary that meets its needs in harmony with nature becomes a living statement of the tradition itself. The way we tend the earth reflects the way we understand our place within it.

What you would do

  • Advise on solar, wind, and alternative energy systems.
  • Help design water systems, including wells, rain harvesting, filtration, and greywater reuse.
  • Advise on sustainable building methods.
  • Help plan waste management systems.
  • Create cost estimates and phased plans that let the lands grow one sound step at a time.

What you bring

You carry real working knowledge of off-grid and sustainable systems, whether through trade experience, engineering, or hands-on stewardship of land. You think in phases and budgets, so a vision becomes a plan a community can actually build. You care about doing the work well and doing it in accord with nature. Steady commitment counts here, since infrastructure is patient work that unfolds across seasons rather than days.

How to express interest

This is volunteer service, the unpaid stewardship of a nonprofit spiritual tradition. No one at Netism is paid, and all role-related expenses are covered. Your time creates real change in real lives, and this is the work of changing how humanity relates to itself, to the earth, and to the sacred.
