Volunteer role
Nonprofit Accountant and Financial Manager
Keep the community's finances sound, transparent, and compliant so the work can continue.
Sound financial stewardship keeps the whole community standing. Netism holds 508(c)(1)(A) status as a religious nonprofit, and that status depends on records that are accurate, donation receipts that are issued on time, and reporting that grant partners can trust. This role guards that foundation. The person who takes it up makes it possible for every other part of the work to move forward with integrity.
What you would do
- Maintain the financial records and keep the books current
- Prepare financial reports for leadership and for grant reporting
- Issue and track donation receipts
- Keep the organization in compliance with IRS requirements for religious nonprofits
- Assist with budget planning
What you bring
You bring real fluency with nonprofit accounting and bookkeeping, along with a working understanding of the rules that govern religious nonprofit organizations. Attention to detail matters here, since the records you keep are what protect the community’s standing. Steadiness and discretion matter just as much, because you will handle sensitive information and hold a trust that others rely on. A willingness to give your time as ongoing stewardship, rather than a single favor, is what makes the role work.
How to express interest
This is volunteer stewardship of the tradition. No one at Netism is paid, and role-related expenses are covered so that your care goes where it belongs. If this work speaks to you, tell us through the collaborator application.
