Volunteer role

Content Editor, Netism Press

Steward the clarity and quality of every book Netism Press brings into the world.

Netism Press has already published books, and more are on the way. Every title that carries the tradition into readers’ hands passes through an editor’s care first. This role holds the line on clarity and quality, so that each publication reads cleanly, stays true to Netism’s language, and earns the trust of the people who open it. The words we release become part of how the tradition is understood for years, which makes careful editing an act of stewardship.

What you would do

  • Perform developmental editing, shaping structure, flow, and argument
  • Copy edit manuscripts for grammar, syntax, and consistency
  • Proofread final versions before they go to print
  • Offer clear, constructive feedback to authors
  • Keep every manuscript consistent with Netism terminology and style
  • Sign an NDA to protect works ahead of publication

What you bring

  • A strong editorial eye across developmental editing, copy editing, and proofreading
  • Command of grammar, syntax, and the craft of clean prose
  • Care for consistency, so terminology and style hold across a full manuscript
  • The temperament to give authors honest feedback with respect and tact
  • Willingness to sign an NDA and honor the confidentiality of unpublished work
  • Steady commitment, since books move through many drafts before they are ready

This is volunteer work. Netism is a nonprofit tradition, and no one here draws a salary. We cover every role-related expense. What you give is your time and skill, and what it produces is real: books that change how people relate to themselves, to the earth, and to the sacred.
