Netism’s 508(c)(1)(A) Religious Organization Status

Netism is a legally recognized religious organization operating under Section 508(c)(1)(A) of the Internal Revenue Code. This classification grants Netism full federal tax exemption and permits the organization to receive tax-deductible donations from individuals and institutions. Netism is not organized for profit, and no part of its income benefits any private individual.

We use the word “church” solely for legal purposes, in accordance with U.S. tax law. Netism is a spiritual and metaphysical tradition that does not impose dogma or demand worship of any person or deity. Our use of the term is a formality to meet the requirements of federal classification under 508(c)(1)(A) and does not reflect traditional religious or ecclesiastical structure.

Definition of Church (Legal Term):

Under IRS guidelines, a “church” may include any religious organization that engages in regular religious services, pastoral leadership, established teachings, community outreach, and ceremonies.

Netism satisfies these requirements through:

  • Weekly and seasonal spiritual practices

  • Pastoral and ceremonial guidance

  • Energetic alignment and spiritual counseling

  • A defined spiritual framework with sacred texts and centers

  • Initiatory rites, dreamwork, and communal service

We do not resemble a conventional religion, and we do not worship deities or demand belief—but we do operate with full spiritual structure and sacred service, as required for classification.

Section 508(c)(1)(A) of the Internal Revenue Code automatically grants tax-exempt status to churches and religious organizations. Unlike typical nonprofits, these groups do not need to file for 501(c)(3) status or submit annual IRS paperwork to maintain their exemption.

As long as a spiritual organization operates:

  • Exclusively for religious and educational purposes

  • Without the intent of personal gain

  • And provides pastoral, ceremonial, or sacred community services

It qualifies for protection under 508(c)(1)(A). Netism meets all of these requirements.

Netism is a living spiritual tradition rooted in universal energetic laws, sacred unity, and the exploration of consciousness. We provide:

  • Spiritual guidance, energetic alignment, and dreamwork counseling

  • Sacred teachings and ceremonies

  • Vibrational and breath-based healing practices

  • Community gatherings, mentorship, and initiatory rites

We have chosen to organize under 508(c)(1)(A) instead of applying for 501(c)(3) because:

  • It protects our spiritual and philosophical autonomy

  • It aligns with our belief that spirituality should not be subject to state approval

  • It allows us to operate in alignment with First Amendment protections and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA)

Our structure satisfies the legal definition of a religious organization (referred to as a “church” for federal purposes), allowing us to function independently while honoring our deeper metaphysical principles.

Yes. Donations to Netism are fully tax-deductible under Section 170(b)(1)(A)(i) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Although we have not filed IRS Form 1023, we are classified under 508(c)(1)(A), which provides the same donor benefits as a 501(c)(3) church or religious body. This includes:

  • Full deductibility of eligible contributions

  • No sales of goods or services in exchange for donations (unless otherwise disclosed)

  • Donation receipts available upon request

We issue donation acknowledgments that include:

  • Donor name and amount

  • Date of contribution

  • Statement affirming that “no goods or services were provided in return for this donation”

  • Confirmation that Netism is a religious organization operating under 508(c)(1)(A)

Though 508(c)(1)(A) organizations are not required to file annual reports with the IRS, Netism maintains full internal records of donations, financial use, and spiritual services rendered. We are committed to:

  • Transparency and ethical use of all contributions

  • Preventing personal gain from church assets

  • Documenting our religious mission and activities

  • Offering clarity and verification to supporters and authorities as needed

All resources received are directed toward the expansion of spiritual services, teachings, community initiatives, and sacred development in accordance with Netist principles.

While Netism is already fully recognized as tax-exempt under Section 508(c)(1)(A) of the Internal Revenue Code, we are currently in the process of preparing for a voluntary application for 501(c)(3) status in the near future.

This filing is not required by law, but it may serve additional purposes, including:

  • Providing an IRS Determination Letter for major institutions, grant funders, or corporate donors who require formal verification

  • Simplifying interactions with banks, payment processors, and donor platforms

  • Offering greater clarity and documentation for large charitable gifts and estate planning

  • Further strengthening public trust and legal transparency

Netism’s 501(c)(3) application will reflect the same spiritual mission, ethical standards, and non-profit operation that we currently uphold under our 508(c)(1)(A) status. We will not alter or compromise our core values, teachings, or organizational integrity in order to meet filing expectations.

This application is being pursued only to expand donor accessibility and organizational reach. Our status as a church-equivalent under 508(c)(1)(A) remains valid and effective whether or not we obtain 501(c)(3) recognition.

If and when our 501(c)(3) status is granted, we will update this page with our IRS Determination Letter and any new filing information.

Final Statement

Netism is recognized under law as a 508(c)(1)(A) religious organization. We do not worship figures or impose doctrine. Our sacred work is dedicated to healing, self-realization, and alignment with the Net—the living current that binds all existence.

Your support is deeply appreciated and fully tax-deductible under current federal law.
