According to Mohamad Nizam Kassim, 2015 (in the publication titled, “The 5 Strategies for Effective Cyberparenting”), there are 4 respective important phases in the Digital World, namely; Digital Divide, Digital Inclusion, Digital Literacy and Digital Citizenship.
The goal of the NETISM AECDL Initiative is to compile an up-to-date digital literacy tips needed for a Responsible Digital Citizenship across the globe.
Alongside, education would be maximized in bridging the parent-child Digital Divide while necessary actions would be taken to canvass for the Digital Inclusion of various developing/underserved societies – in attempt to stimulate a sustainable digital economy in the State in question.
The theme for the first edition of the essay contest is: “Safeguarding the Tech-savvy Kids with Education: The Panacea for a Responsible Digital Citizenship”.
